U4GM Guide to Farming Ancient Jawbone in PoE 2 0.5.5 The fresh economy in Path of Exile 2 Forbidden Rites makes crafting materials worth paying close attention to, and POE 2 Orbs are especially important when you start upgrading your first serious character. Among the newer desecrated currency items, Ancient Jawbone is one of the more interesting options because it can turn an ordinary rare weapon or quiver into a much more valuable crafting project. If you are planning to farm it, the key is knowing what the item does, where it drops, and how to build your Atlas around Abyss content. What Does Ancient Jawbone Do? Ancient Jawbone is a desecrated currency item designed for rare weapons and quivers. Its main use is straightforward: • Right-click Ancient Jawbone. • Left-click a rare weapon or quiver. • The item receives a desecrated modifier. • The resulting modifier is subject to a minimum level requirement, giving you access to stronger potential rolls. This makes it particularly interesting for endgame weapon crafting. Instead of throwing valuable materials at random rares, you can start with a suitable base and use Ancient Jawbone when the existing affixes are worth keeping. Ancient Jawbone can also stack up to 20, so there is little reason to spend every piece immediately. Saving several gives you more room to work through multiple crafting attempts. Where Can You Get Ancient Jawbone? There are two main ways to obtain Ancient Jawbone in 0.5.5: 1. Farm Abyss Content Ancient Jawbone is associated with Abyssal content, particularly Abyss chests found in Abyssal Depths. Areas around Level 65 and above become relevant when you start seriously farming the item. When building a farming character, prioritize: • Fast map clearing • Strong single-target damage • Good movement speed • Enough defenses for high-tier maps • Abyss-focused Atlas modifiers 2. Use the Currency Exchange Players who do not want to repeatedly run Abyss content can also obtain the item through the Currency Exchange after unlocking the required progression. This route can be useful when the market price makes buying the material more efficient than spending time farming it yourself. If you are short on trading currency, buy POE 2 Orbs can also help you reach specific crafting or gear upgrades faster. How to Farm Ancient Jawbone Efficiently The most important point is that you should build your farming strategy around Abyss chests, rather than simply stacking character rarity. A practical Atlas setup can include: • An Abyss-focused unique tablet. • Two rare tablets with useful Abyss modifiers. • Increased chances for desecrated currency. • Additional Abyss encounters where possible. • Item rarity or rare-monster bonuses as secondary options. Community testing has indicated that Ancient Jawbone and Ancient Ribs are heavily tied to Abyss chest rewards. Because of that, improving the number and quality of chest encounters can be more useful than blindly stacking Magic Find. There is also a potential problem with duplicate double-reward pit modifiers in Overrun maps. If your setup causes unusual chest-generation behavior, remove the conflicting modifier rather than wasting an entire map. What Should You Craft With Ancient Jawbone? Do not use Ancient Jawbone on every rare weapon you find. The base item matters. Look for: • A strong weapon or quiver base. • Useful existing affixes. • Appropriate item level. • A build-relevant implicit. • Enough open potential for further crafting. For example, a high-level bow with desirable attack modifiers may be worth preserving before applying a desecrated affix. On the other hand, using the currency on a low-level or poorly rolled base usually wastes its potential. If you need additional crafting materials or currency to complete the project, looking for cheap POE 2 Orbs can help keep your budget under control.
