'The Church, the School, and the Community That Has Always Invested in Its Future'
The Catholic Diocese of Nsukka — established under Bishop Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, headquartered at Saint Theresa Cathedral in Nsukka town — has its roots in the early twentieth century work of the Holy Ghost (Spiritan) missionaries who entered this part of Igboland and built, alongside their churches, the schools and health posts that became the foundational development infrastructure of the entire zone.
In Ede-Nta and across the Ede-Oballa community cluster, the Catholic presence is deep and institutional. When the State Secretariat Annex was inaugurated in 2023, the community's priests were present at the ceremony — evidence not of political alignment but of something more important: a community where faith leadership and civic development are understood as dimensions of the same responsibility.
The Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), the Legion of Mary, the Knights of Saint Mulumba — these are not merely religious clubs. They are community welfare institutions. They run savings cooperatives. They support bereaved families. They fund boreholes. They send scholarship children to secondary school. They advocate, from the moral authority that no government appointment can confer, for the welfare of the community's most vulnerable members.
And then there is the Community Secondary School Ede-Oballa — the secondary school that serves students from Ede-Nta and its sister communities. A school that parents sacrifice to access. A school that teachers travel to serve. A school that, in a community that carries the University of Nigeria on its horizon, produces students who dare to aspire to professional careers because they can see UNN from the road.

📚 A fully renovated, properly resourced Community Secondary School Ede-Oballa with reliable electricity, proper toilets, and qualified teachers in every subject.
⚡ A solar-powered school library — where students can study after 6pm without generator noise.
